Remote Assistance
Did you know that if you use windows, you can get help from another person over the internet? The newer versions of windows Vista and windows 7 have a very simple method of allowing you to get help from a trusted friend called remote assistance. It enables you to invite your friend to view what is on your screen and also if it is helpful, you allow them to take over your cursor and take you through something whilst you watch.
It can be very helpful, and if you have sound enabled you can even speak to them, if not a simultaneous phone call can help.
At any time you can take back control by clicking on the appropriate button. It’s an excellent way to get help whilst both people are not in the same location.
I recently helped one of our members using this tool and it was a very quick way of solving things.
Bear it in mind if you ever have a question that you need answering, but find it difficult to explain… you can call a friend up, show them the problem and they can show you how to solve it…

AGM

This is the first AGM since the decision was made to move AGMs to September. The documents above will be of use if you are planning to attend.
Images Wanted From Members
If you are reading this you will be aware that I have recently moved the site to another host which has many benefits to us.
So far, in order to get the site up and running I have used only my own images.
I would like to invite members to submit their own work for display on the website to give a representation of what FPCC is about and capable of.
If you are interested in sharing your work, let Peter Downer know.
Volunteers Wanted
Hello all,
Since moving trhe website to wordpress we are now able to use multiple authors in keeping the site up to date with both club news and useful information for other members (and anyone else who stops by).
It is very simple and I will show anyone interested how easy it is to do; so the question is; is there anyone else interested in contributing to the FPCC website/blog?
If you are interested, just let Peter Downer know and we’ll make arrangements…
Pre AGM Meeting Held
Last week, members of the club tasked with selecting suitable images to represent FPCC in external competitions met with some of the committee to discuss the parameters under which they should proceed.
It was felt that it would be beneficial to have the discussion to avoid any confusion later and prepare the way for anyone asked to undertake the task in the future.
the discussion covered the following points;
- Why are we entering? is it to win or to showcase members’ work?
- What records do we/should we keep when selecting work?
- How should we select and what are the responsibilities of the selection “team”?
- What constitutes the “selection pool” of images available to the selectors?
- We also discussed format issues (DPI image size etc).
One of the outcomes was that it was agreed to put a motion to the club to change the rules of FPCC’s internal competition to cater for the increased size of PDI images required for club competitions. It is anticipated that this will be discussed at the AGM next week.
The full notes of the meeting are available from the link below;
